My Grown up Christmas List - Sitti

Here is my all time favorite song. The tune. The message. Sitti. This song really captured the essence of my most favorite time of the year, Christmas.

Fun side of my world

Admittedly, I have always been a visual person and that could be the reason why I embarked on the more creative type of extra-curricular activities than any debates, conferences, and stuff as such (back in college).

This way, I can express myself more plus I can make people smile.

Most of my training in designing were from college. I literally experienced a lot of firsts and defining moments back then. First extra-curricular organization which was Chi-Rho, the official newsmagazine of Miriam College. First major position which was to be a Creative Director for Chi-Rho. First Marketing Ad. First styling experience. First vector attempt. First logo. First cover. First Fragments. First published artwork. First winning design. First raket! hahaha. Soooooooooooo many.

Here are some of it:
Multi-tasking. Senior year could be the most tiring time in college but it was very fulfilling.

Fashion Dream: It is coming true

On my dream to become a fashion designer, I am doing my part in making it happen - one baby step at a time.

Vision Board. I already knew I've wanted to become a fashion designer since I was 11 years old.

Cheers to Nami, Kat and Me!

It was a lovely bonding over a hearty dinner from My Thai and a bucket of beer after!

Oh my... barely three years ago, we were talking about school and our extra-curricular activities. Now, we are talking about work, life, love, changing views, etc.

Time flies by so fast. In just a blink of an eye, everything seems to be so different.

I remember Transcom

"If there's one thing you'll hold on to, it's the attachment."

That was one of the advices blurted out to me when they were convincing me not to leave. I didn't think of how true that statement was until I started looking back how amazing my experience there was. Exceptional.

I thought moving on from this company would be so easy for me. (I was intentionally trying to forget it like it never happened). Now, I admit I was being ungrateful for trying to do that.

Maybe, some feelings will never change. Especially if you've been blessed with a great experience to live your life with great people who truly care about you; and, keep them until these days.

Career Kit 2008 - Present

Keeping the dream alive.

Career Kit. It is one of those yearly creative gigs that I do that keeps my passion for designing alive. Since then, it has also been my way of saying, "Thank you my Alma Mater and I love you so much." I guess this is the reason why this project is so close to my heart. It really is a great opportunity that I have been blessed with to be part of. And, this keeps me connected with the school I dearly love, Miriam College (also known as MC).

Being part of this even I no longer study in MC is a prestige on my part. It wouldn't happen without the help of someone, though.  It started through a recommendation of a friend, Celai Marcelo. Yes, she introduced me to Ms. Claire who happens to be the project head of this yearly event in MC. (Thank you Celala and Thank you Ms. Claire for the trust!

Through the years. I have been commissioned to do the art and layout of Miriam College booklet since 2008.

Gotta have eyes: Just got Lucky!

I got myself a new pair of prescription eyeglasses today. And I love it.

Not a lot of people know that I really have a poor eyesight. Still 175 and yes I have astigmatism that is why I really couldn't see clearly from afar.

Thursday: St.Pio Chapel

"..I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you." - 2 Kings 20:5

I visited the nearest church from my office today after work because of this anxious feeling that has been bothering me since Saturday.

Each time I feel down or just need some place to find peace and to quiet my troubled heart, I always go to Him.

When I'm overwhelmed by emotional vulnerability and couldn't find anyone to talk to who would really understand me, I pray.  Afterwards, I feel a whole lot better. Even if I don't hear Him responds I know He listens to me and something good happens right away. That to me, is an answer from Him already like He's telling me, "Don't worry my child, everything will be alright."

Much love,

A lovely week that was

Jam-packed. I had one of the best vacations ever. November 7 to 11. Just one week. But, it's one of those one week vacations I'll never EVER forget.

First time to witness the raw beauty of Cebu.  Gotten a chance to visit to thank God and St. Pio at St. Pio Chapel in Libis with my mother. Commissioned again to do the Miriam College Career Kit 2012. One priceless moment to see my work in public courtesy of VNC and Women's Crisis Center.  Overflowing and heartwarming messages from friends and family who never get tired of extending their endless support and joy with this gift of achievement from God.  Finally, to be part of a lovely wedding of my childhood friend who is so dear and more like a sister to me, Hazel Nalangan - now, Hazel Nalangan-Basity.

VNC: Priceless Moment

Surprise Surprise. My mother and I went to VNC Eastwood branch (11/9/11) to get shoes and on our way to the store, we saw an easel outside with a promotional ad that seemed so familiar.

I saw my I love life design!

I was speechless for a brief second that my heart literally skipped a beat and my instinct just dictated me to get my phone and take pictures.

The notebook is now available at the store.

Little did I know that it would be used for the benefit of Women's Crisis Center. For every notebook purchased from the participating branches, proceeds would go to the said beneficiary.

Realizing how good this cause was, it has made me feel even more ecstatic and grateful. My mother was soooooooooooooo happy, too.

VNC: November (2011)

I gave my mother my November 2011 GC. What she has chosen amongst the many beautiful pairs last night was the beige canvas peep-toe wedge with stitched brown faux leather and bronze buckle detail from VNC's November 2011 Collection.

She loves her new VNC. I know she does. All she could ever say was, "Ang ganda. Napakakomportable."

VNC: September. October. (2011)

I can do anything high heels. I feel truly blessed to win this VNC promo 2011.

Introduction: Who am I?

Image from Wondering Fair site
A/S/L?  I remembered being asked this question when I was once-upon-a-time a chat room enthusiast. A/S/L? So basic. Too easy to answer. No-brainer even.

How about if you were asked, How would you describe yourself? Or, Who are you? Can you answer that as quick as you have answered the A/S/L question?

To cut the long story short, there are questions that are easy to ask and yet these are hardest to answer once asked to you. It leaves you thinking, Who am I?

24/F/Philippines. On Who am I? Frankly, I have no concrete words on how to describe myself in adjectives. All I can do right now is determine what I value in life and come up with my own definition for each.
