Note to self - LOL

I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person.

Kada 27 and Stuff

"This is for the 8 year friendship of Nats, Johanna, Cloe and Con. Kami na ang long-term! Build me up Buttercup!"

That was the note we requested  from the band last night, di naman pinlay. Di rin nila nagets. Fail. LOL.

It was nice seeing you, Cloe at ang "we laf we laf" moments sa car ni Nats." High!

Of course, we won't forget our new members, Mox and Ches(wez). ;P

Inf@ @verload

This week's been overwhelming. I felt it was my first day of work - literally. Yes, I'm overwhelmed by the tasks at hand. These are workloads I'm not actually familiar with and have not done yet before kaya siguro ganito haha. Since the transition has happened, I have been stuck sitting at my desk figuring out how to do those custom emails and how to respond to current category issues I really had no idea about. Bahala na. @_@

Yes I admit naiinfo overload ako. Sobraaaaa. I was just trying to keep my cool. It's the job, I can't complain. I was just thinking, "Ngayon lang to mahirap kase first time." ;P

God is good. My officemates have been offering their assistance nonstop. Even if I don't ask for it, they will just show up at my workstation and help me. Ang sweet at ambabait nila SUPER. For that, I'm SOOOOOOOO GRATEFUL. :)

Flaming Wings and Cello's

I missed college. Going to Katipunan makes me feel like a student each time. Must be the youthful vibe it has that keeps me missing and going back to the place.

It was one lazy Sunday today that finally, I was able to convince my sister to drive us to Katipunan after mass for some dinner at Flaming Wings. Grabe! Their chicken are waaaaaay better than BonChon (just an opinion) and they serve the best Wicked Oreos. They are to die for! ^_^ and we of course ordered the oh so yummmmmmmy Cello's for take-out.

© 2012 Thumbmark

Here's a sneak peek of what I've done today.

I redesigned my portfolio which took me over five hours to finish. Just to share, this has been on my checklist since last year. Laging naooverlook kase wala talaga akong maisip. So it truly makes me happy I've done it, FINALLY. I wish I could attach the pdf here so you could see, I just don't know how. :S (kaya yung thumbmark na lang muna).

On how I came up with this idea... Well, I was doodling two weeks ago and thought of, why don't I use a fingerprint or a thumbmark for my portfolio.

Thumbmark, because that describes "identity." You'll also notice that "Do it right this time. No pressure." is incorporated into the thumbmark. I love the idea that it is barely there. It is a copy I wrote last year. And, that has always been my mantra ever since. Each time I need to take a LEAP (yeah, a decision), I always think of those words. DO it RIGHT this time. NO pressure, Con. It works for me. © is also apparent in the layout. I guess, it has become my signature. Could stand for Con and Copyright (original work exclusive right). :P

Note to self - Is it God-given?

It wasn't long ago a priest during the simbang gabi said, "If it's God's will, you will succeed without even trying." That got stuck in my head, what does he mean?

I supposed the quote above clearly stated what he actually meant when he said that.

Very enlightening. God honors our dignity and integrity.

A lovely thought I will always keep in mind. :)

Keep the faith

Isn't it nice when you wish, plan, decide, (insert your preferred verb here) for something, you automatically begin to engage with the idea of "it." Like imagining yourself attaining or being in it eventually, whatever that is. An outcome that is still unknown, for sure.

All you know is that it should be great and indeed, it WILL be great (again, whatever that is). You don't know how on earth you're going to achieve it but you know - at that moment of the thought process, the outcome will be just how you hoped for it to be.

Based on personal experiences, it is encouraging to realize that most of the time if not all the time, it is ALWAYS even better than you have ever imagined. And, I think that's the beauty of faith.

 Just a thought. :)

Career Kit: Done!

I'm finally done with the first project. It took me a while to finish the whole thing but that's alright. I guess crunch time has always worked for everybody. The booklet is 45 pages total. Here are some of the pages from the kit. Done with the tarp, too.

Note to self - Beautiful and Ordinary

While Tumblr-ing, I came across this beautiful message:

Meet Billie and Piggie

I bought two piggy banks to use for 2012 . Very old school, I knowLabels. And yes, part of my new year's resolution has always been to Learn to Save (NOT Save to Spend). That's really quite a struggle for me ever since because I really spend a lot and most of the time, I'm at times on a tight budget because of my bad spending habits. So, I hope these piggy banks might help me even just a little. >_<

The green one will be for coins and the yellow one is for those Php 20 bills.

I have been reading a lot about ways on how to save. Here are some of it:

1. Pay yourself first. Always keep 10% of your income. (I might want to try this).
2. Keep the change. Do not spend those extra coins; instead, put those in a coinbank and you'll be surprised on how much you can save after a year.
3. Cut down OR quit bad vices like smoking and drinking. (I knoooooooooow). Not only it helps you SAVE a lot, you're literally saving your life, too.
4. Go out less. (Hard but true).
5. Only buy the things you NEED. (Harder but true).
6. Eat out less.
7. Take public transportation. Avoid cabs.

Just a little reminder, always remember that "Every peso counts."

Good Finds: Flats

I haven't used my Jan. 2012 GC just yet. So, I was thinking of giving it to my sister instead. I bought two flats from the year end sale, though --- 70% OFF. VNC is on sale until the end of January; and when they're on sale, they're REALLY on sale. I have no right to splurge these days but these are for keeps. Kelangan ko rin eh and GOOD FINDS talaga. One for me. One for my mother. :)

Featured again!

While I was doing work related stuff, my friend in the office asked me, "Alam mo yung nagblog about sa VNC? Sa notebook?" And she showed it to me. Wooooooooaaaaaahhhhh! For real???? Totoo nga!!!! Weeeee! Someone blogged about VNC including the notebook. This made my day... It still feels great each time.

Search for true love

Seek God's guidance and true love will find you.
Now that I'm no longer a little girl, I've begun to be more inspired each time I hear my mother, titas, and friends would tell me their stories on how they've found their true love.

As for my mother, she must have told us their love story of my father literally for over a hundred times. She would even tell the story to my friends every time they'd come visit our place. Pero kinuwento na nya yun at eto... pati sa mga strangers. Haha!  And mind you, she would narrate it in such a way like everything had just happened yesterday. Sobrang detalyado. Well, mothers are really like that, I guess.

What makes me reflect these days is the common denominator in the stories of true love of my mother, my titas, mothers of my friends, and friends. They have all prayed for it.

My mother for instance, I remembered that she would always highlight the fact that she prayed for my father. From the qualities she would want for a husband to a bright future she envisioned for herself and the family she would want to have. Very focused, ika nga. She said, these have all happened through prayers.

I love that. I'd love to have the same kind of story. That, I have found my true love and future husband because God has given me him and because I have prayed for him. This will be a lovely inspiring testimonial of finding true love that I could share with and to my kids and grandchildren.

I made two studies for the cover of the kit I'm working on.  Here you go:

MC chooses the footprints concept. Not the girl, kase Kung Fu Panda gusto nila hahahha.

This will still change eventually and I'll post the final cover soon. :)

A piece of Tiffany

I can only drool and heave a sigh for this piece (for now). I immediately fell in love with this lapiz lazuli bead bracelet yesterday. And, I'm wishing someday, I can have a piece of Tiffany & Co., too.

Cold Turkey

Today marks the first month of me being cold turkey. Yeeeehey! Cold turkey just simply means to abruptly withdraw from a habit (in my case, smoking) rather than through gradual reduction.

I don't want to put into details my day to day experiences to a smoke-free life. Now, I'm just taking it one day at a time. NO PRESSURE. I just hope this time I can finally commit and not fall into any temptations and cravings anymore of going back to this habit.
