Fischu

Although I find this project too formal, I kind of like it.

It's not something I would wear but it's very Filipino in a way.  It reminds me of the panuelo. :)

I used a tweed looking fabric for the bodice and a leather looking neoprene for the wrap or shawl (?)... I don't know what to call it.

Fischu, done

This is 80% done and I finished it yesterday, at LONG last! :)

Hanging by a thread, literally

Those fabrics - tweed looking and leather looking neoprene do not marry.  I am stuck in this project because those are difficult to sew.  Hanging by a thread, literally.  >_<

Well, at least everyone who sees the fabrics and combination I made likes it.  They are really visually lovely.

Make it work

During the checking of the dress the comment was, "She looks pregnant." and "It's a simple complicated dress." The bodice was the problem, the mannequin indeed looked pregnant, lol.  I noticed it too.  So Monday, I went to school we were trying to fix it.  In my mind, I was only thinking "Make it work, make it work, make it work.  It is going to beautiful, I know."

The Weave

After I finished it, I was ecstatic.  I couldn't believe I finished it.

Worth it :)

It is the yoke of dress I am making.

Slim's: Dress Pants (Shorts version)

I started it yesterday and I am almost done. :)

Invisible Zipper! I am amazed and surprisingly easy to do! :D
Nice trick I learned yesterday.

Ohhh sleeves.

One side is finished, one more!

We had the option to make it short. Simply, this is a romper. :)

Slim's: Pleated Skirt

I like this project, it doesn't need drafting nor patterns.  On the otherhand, I thought it was pure estimate on the folds, I didn't know it needed a bit of Math to measure the pleats and the distance. ;P

Sailor/Shift dress I made

...the good feeling of wearing what you made. :)

It was the sailor dress from last year's class project. I just inserted the sailor collar inside and tadaaaa it now looks like a shift dress; I rolled the sleeves, added a belt, and wore the red necklace inside.

What I wore to church and lunch today. (Sailor dress project last year)

Prom dress project

What I am learning from this project is that, it is important to listen to what the client wants.

I will post once the dress is done. :)

She specifically stated that she wanted the flange skirt.

It is actually a collaboration, she gave me the freedom to do whatever for the top part.

Lesson learned: This style is so popular if a client wants it just put your own twist into it. That is I guess the role of a designer.  It's a win-win situation both for me and the person who'd wear it.

On the otherhand, if were to choose what I wanted for her to wear, it's this:

Wedding Invite: Bike theme

I would like to share a project I recently made for Ms. Claire. It is something new to me and I am happy to be part of it.  It's not for Miriam College this time, it's for her wedding. *touched*

Project 6 - done

Yesterday was fitting day for my last project, so that means... Secondary class na! *sooooooo happy*
I will take the exam after the holiday. Not an ounce of fear, I am thrilled. Although, I haven't decided yet whether to take the new module or the old module.

See more Slim's entries

Nalukot na :D

This I could wear. I am planning to paint this one, still thinking what.

On display this week. Look at them closely and you'd really appreciate every single detail. Great job!

The middle dress is made by Milka Quin (from Project Runway)
with Ms. Beth

My friends there: Ima and Jhen :) Beautiful and highly creative individuals ;)
