Whenever you're in a midst of an awkward situation that you know will trigger a burst of negative emotion; for example a song that makes you fall apart; seeing someone who makes you feel angry or hurt; or, a place that reminds you nothing but negativity, just say: "It's just __________, don't make it a monster.
It's effective.
This is actually one of the lines Jennifer Lawrence was saying in the movie. And, it makes sense.
I find it helpful so I'm sharing it. :)
