I lost my Identity Card

What is it like to lose one’s identity?
Fingerprints, hair style, blood type, scar, attitude and so on, any of these can be a person’s identity.  Uniqueness that only he or she can possess.  Everyone is unique.  I believe in that saying.  Even twins have differences.  Determining one’s identity can only be done by you.  No one will do it for you.  Your name is already an identity in itself.  It is what makes people different among other individuals.  Losing one’s identity is like being in a situation that you do not recognize yourself anymore.
Losing one’s identity comes in different forms.  It could be through aging, choices, decisions or losing one’s path in life.  Throughout the process, consciously or unconsciously forgetting one’s identity is tragic.  It leads to anguish and desolation of a person.  Losing one’s identity is like living in a useless and meaningless world  (First two paragraphs from my essay for World Literature II, 3/5/2007).

Just a thought. I actually have forgotten I wrote something about "identity" few years back until today. It's kind of funny to read something like this (in just plain objective context at that time) and later on experience it first hand and when you read it again you'd go like, "Ahh okay, naexperience ko to recently ah. Now it makes sense."
