One day, it's my turn

I know and I am sure.  One day it will be my turn to love and be loved back in return.  One day, it will be my turn to be found by true love.

I know and I am sure. It's going to be beautiful.

I know and I am sure.  When that time comes, he is God-given.

A little boy's hug

My teacher's grandson hugged me last night.  The little boy I didn't know, out of the blue, hugged me tightly.  That moment, I felt the joy his mom is always feeling - priceless joy.  That moment, I felt, I wanted to have a child.

I hope to be blessed with a bundle of joy someday.  A prayer I hope to happen in God's perfect time.

To be cheerfully obedient

Give me the ability to be a person who is cheerfully obedient.

Teach me to take orders, so that someday,
I will know how to give them reasonably.

Don’t be afraid to start small

Where God guide, he provides

Where God guides, he provides. What he calls you to do, he equips you to do. He doesn't need your strength and willpower, but he does need your commitment. He wants you to live an abundant life that includes a vibrant faith, a vibrant body, and a vibrant mind. But you must rely on Jesus. (Purpose Driven Life)

"Pray for it."

Praying changes you.

I had an officemate who told me before that her mom had quit smoking because her mom prayed for it.  I remember, I laughed at that point.

And when I had decided to quit smoking, I tried what she said.  I prayed.  I forgot exactly what was my prayer.  I just prayed.

Then after that, I began reading articles like the symptoms and what to expect from quitting.  After reading enough, I prepared myself mentally, emotionally and physically!  Finally, I set the date.  I set it on my 25th birthday, December 8, 2011.

I never smoked ever since.

Until today, I would always remember, "Pray for it."

The question I get all the time was, Tumigil ka na?  Paano?  Because, I never really talked about it only if they asked.

I intentionally kept it to myself at first until I was very sure I made it to six months to a year without smoking.  It worked.

My friends laughed at me when I told my story on how I had quit the habit successfully and it was because I prayed for it.  But it's fine, I laughed, too, in the past until I tried t.  So it's fair enough.

There was only one person who didn't (well except for Quin and Bam who gave me an idea to try praying).  She said, "I believe you.  Why won't God grant your prayer request if it's for your own good.  He'll help you."

This entry isn't only because I quit smoking.  For the first time, I have understood, how praying works.

God is not a genie.  That when we pray, he answers or grants it immediately.  We have to do our part. I think, we have to be willing to deserve the answers to our prayers.

Grant me the grace to accept things that are not meant for me

Grant me the grace to accept things that are not meant for me, oh Lord.

A prayer for yourself and others

A nice prayer I learned years ago, I want to share it:

Lord, let me see myself the way You see me.
Let me see others the way You see them.

Filipino Spirit is stronger than Yolanda

This brought me a smile. Around the world, everyone is praying for the safety of Philippines due to super typhoon, Yolanda.

Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

One of my favorite prayers. :)
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen.
