Prototype Approved

Here's the prototype for my proposed design. Don't worry, the actual garment isn't see-through. :)

In this exercise, I have learned the importance of prototypes and why designers make one, it gives you room to correct your errors.

Sir Mark checked it.

With this, it's too small and it needs to be adjusted by 2 1/2 inches on the back; it needs to be more voluminous as well; the hemline needs to be measured from the floor to ensure that it's even; that I have to make sure I sew everything correctly, he even noticed the shirring wasn't distributed evenly; I have to fix the sleeves as well. Hmmmm what else? He gave tips as well, to put two zippers instead of one to prevent pulling; he's asked me to experiment with the weaves that I am going to make because the fabrics I chose are manisnisin.

Initial selection is on August 30, that is two weeks from now.  It's the actual garment already which is 60-70% finished.

Illaya is textile haven

Got these in Illaya.  This is only for the prototype and I want it to look beautiful already. :)

That upholstery fabric was ONLY Php70/yd and that organza, it was only 20/yd.
The manong told me that is organza but it looks like an organdy. This was only Php15/yd.  This is what I'll use since it is closest to the fabric I am going to use for the final output.

Drafting and patternmaking of proposed design

Yesterday, I went straight to Slim's after work for consultation and drafting.  The design has been approved, now, I need a prototype.  It's been a busy week.  And next week is going be the same.  Thank God for the energy and for Ms. Mae, our teacher, who helped me with the patterns. Deadline of the protoype is on Friday.  I just feel so excited and efficient on this project. :)

This is... sleeves.
One table is not enough.

Not really sure anymore if I am messy or this is normal

Slim's: Dress Pants (Shorts version)

I started it yesterday and I am almost done. :)

Invisible Zipper! I am amazed and surprisingly easy to do! :D
Nice trick I learned yesterday.

Ohhh sleeves.

One side is finished, one more!

We had the option to make it short. Simply, this is a romper. :)

My mother gave me the moon

I found an adorable children's book yesterday at Book Sale (again).  I was really attracted to the illustrations and that was why I bought it.  It was only Php 70.

Audrey Style

Last week, I was verrrrrrry lucky to find an Audrey Hepburn book.  I love Book Sale more!

I got it for only Php 425 :D
A style icon. An actress. A daughter. A mother. An elegant lady. A humanitarian.

Approved Design Proposal

Yesterday, we learned that there is a deadline in submitting the prototypes... it is on August 15th.  Bigla kong napressure because I had no plan of doing one because I was thinking of creating the garment immediately and that was not the case.  I must have overlooked the process. I feel pressured yet surprisingly, excited!
