Russel's Prom Night

I feel so joyful about this.  The smile on her face lets me know she loves what she's wearing. That is such a wonderful feeling for me, too. Soooo beautiful and perfect on her.

First executed gown design for someone. Thank you Lord and I feel grateful.
And.... she won an award ^_^*

Russel's Prom Dress: Fitting

There were just some problems on the buttons and the fit on the upper part since the neck and shoulder part wasn't exactly what I hoped it to be but no design execution is perfect.  At the end of the day we just have to make it work, fix whatever we can.  Thank God, it can.  And yes, it looks pretty and elegant on Russel. :)

Will post pictures again. :)

The shoulder and neck part in the original design.
After few hours, her sister sent me another batch of pictures. She tried it on again. :)

Thoughtful surprise gifts :)

Today, I received gifts from Russel, she said it was for helping her in her prom gown. Very thoughtful of her. :)

Pretty clutch bag

It was a gift from a friend. It's a pretty wallet clutch and I put a ribbon handle so I could use it as a bag.

A happy, neon dress

This is so neon, so pink, so strikingly bright (literally) it screams, I am happy. ;P

Yeah, like the neon lights. I don't know I like this dress.

Wearing it as is.

Sunday lunch 020214

Gumbo's promo. 2 appetizers, 2 main course... no food shot for the seafood jambalaya.

Onion rings, hmmmm crispy!

Buffalo wings, our least favorite but the dip was good.

Fish and chips, crispy and the fries is really tasty.

#Day 40

For the second time, I read The Purpose Driven Life and it is the same thought at last year's, it's worth it.  It has provided lessons about our purpose in life; what must we do with our gifts, talents, and skills; how those gifts are related to our purpose; it also includes lessons on developing our character and embracing our uniqueness; it clearly explains what is love; how to deal and handle relationships; and it helps you understand the bible, etc.

From the beginning until the end it is God-centered.  It politely asks you to surrender your life to God and it explains what it truly means to surrender and let God take control of our lives and allow him to use us to fulfill His purpose in this life.

Sailor/Shift dress I made

...the good feeling of wearing what you made. :)

It was the sailor dress from last year's class project. I just inserted the sailor collar inside and tadaaaa it now looks like a shift dress; I rolled the sleeves, added a belt, and wore the red necklace inside.

What I wore to church and lunch today. (Sailor dress project last year)

Awwwwww... she makes me want to watch Wicked.

020114 sewing

I was sewing the tailored collar top and it took me whole day... and it is still undone,  Sewing the collar and the facing gets me confused.

Visual reminder.

Divisoria trip

It's been a looooong time.

It's been 7 or 8 years I had been to Divisoria. We went to Tabora as well, too bad I wasn't able to take pictures.  I get a feeling I'd be a frequent shopper here, ang mura ng tela and bilihin. :)

Prom dress project

What I am learning from this project is that, it is important to listen to what the client wants.

I will post once the dress is done. :)

She specifically stated that she wanted the flange skirt.

It is actually a collaboration, she gave me the freedom to do whatever for the top part.

Lesson learned: This style is so popular if a client wants it just put your own twist into it. That is I guess the role of a designer.  It's a win-win situation both for me and the person who'd wear it.

On the otherhand, if were to choose what I wanted for her to wear, it's this:
